Obtaining your Marriage License in Hawaii is a very easy process like 1, 2, 3

Upon your arrival to Hawaii, you pick up the document from an authorized marriage license agent.

The state will mail your marriage certificate document to the forwarding address you listed on the application within 4 to 6 weeks.

When physically obtaining the license, you both need to be present. Typically, the only legal documentation required is a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport. If previously married, proof of original divorce decree or death certificate only needs to be presented if the divorce or death was finalized within 30 days of applying for a marriage license.

1. You can apply for your marriage license online prior to your arrival or in person.
2. Upon your arrival to Hawaii, you pick up the Marriage License document from the
Hawaii State Department of Health at 1250 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu.
3. The Marriage License and Marriage certificates are two different documents. The Marriage License permits a marriage to take place. The Marriage Certificate indicates that a legal marriage has been performed. After the event the wedding officiant will file the Marriage License with the State of Hawai'i.
4. The state will mail your Marriage Certificate document to the forwarding address you listed on the application within 4 to 6 weeks.
